A Chic Affair, the metro area’s definitive boutique luxury consumer event for the modern bride, will take place Sunday, March 13, 2011 at The Historical Society of Washington, D.C, from 11 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Discerning brides can view a collection of the area’s premier wedding resources, sample hors d’oeuvres, sip creative cocktails, enjoy a cake and champagne tasting, get expert advice and view a formal runway show, all before leaving with an exclusive gift bag brimming with products and special offers. This is the shows second year in Washington.

Participants in this year’s event already include such sought after resources as Bloomingdales, Brides Washington Magazine, Brides.com, Chevy Chase Bridal, Maggie Austin Cake, Georgetown Cupcake, and The Dandelion Patch. The “State of The Union” expert conversation series will include Project Runway Season 4 Winner Christian Siriano as well as Editorial Staff from Conde Nast Bridal Media and others.

This is not your average bridal show- A Chic Affair is a one of a kind bridal experience which brings together a select collection of the most lavish national brands and the most distinctive Washington area resources. The event provides brides with the latest trends and timeless elegance. The quality vendors presented in this well-edited collection ensures a sell out crowd for the show year after year.

The piece de resistance of the event, a formal runway show presentation, will be shared by two of the world’s most popular designers, provided by Chevy Chase Bridal and accompanied by luxury jewelry by an exclusive diamond partner. This year’s show, Alice in Weddingland, promises to be unlike anything you’ve seen on a runway in D.C – expect a whimsical, surprising and transformative presentation inside a custom designed tent outside the venue, facades and décor created by Gala Events, Inc, recently featured in WEtv’s Platinum Weddings.

Kick off the new year by attending the area's premiere wedding show! Washingtonian Bride & Groom magazine will host its third annual ticketed wedding event, Unveiled, on Sunday, January 23, 2011, from 11 am to 3 pm at the Park Hyatt Washington D.C. This year's event will be anchored by an exclusive bridal-gown fashion show featuring Vera Wang's fall 2011 collection, sponsored by the the Bridal Salon at Saks Jandel in Chevy Chase.

More than 300 brides- and grooms-to-be attended last year's show, and more are expected to attend this year. The area's most renowned wedding vendors, including event planners, photographers, florists, and caterers, will be on hand to offer expert advice and make appointments for wedding services. Guests can also sample hors d’oeuvres, delicious wedding cakes, and innovative desserts from Blue Duck Tavern’s award-winning executive chef, Brian McBride, and its pastry chef, Peter Brett.

Unveiled will also offer spectacular door prizes and takeaways. Advance tickets are on sale now: $55 for brides, grooms, and members of the bridal party; $75 for wedding professionals.
